Host Family Information

Thank you for your interest in becoming a host family for a Fort Smith Marshal! Host families play a crucial role in the success of the Marshals and lots of other teams across the country. Expectations of a host family Have a bedroom and use of a bathroom for the player. Two beds in one room for two players is perfectly acceptable. However, a player cannot share a bedroom with a non-player. Players are expected to keep both the bedroom and bathroom clean. Use of laundry facilities. Somewhere where the player can do their laundry throughout the summer. Uniforms will be handled by the organization. Within reason, have food available for the player. The player will receive pre and post game meals at the field, so providing breakfast food is very helpful. Important to note that these players are high level athletes so their consumption may be a bit more than you are used to! However, if the player wants special things such as special drinks, special snacks, they will be in charge of getting those on their own. The players need plenty of rest. With their baseball schedule, rest is a top priority. It is important that they have a place to get good quality sleep at all times. Important to note that they play 48 games in 80 days and 24 of those games are on the road. Sometimes they will be arriving home at 2:00-3:00 am and will need sleep to be ready for a home game the following day. Underage drinking is not allowed. We strongly discourage drinking and partying for all of our players and would appreciate your help with this but of course have to be extra careful with players under 21 years of age. Provide the player with rules of your home. Upon arrival, give the players an indication of any house specific rules your family abides by. These players are guests in your home and will be expected to act as such! Please fill out this form and we will be in contact with you shortly!
